16 Seer Bryant vers 20 Seer Linex for older home
 

I am comparing a 16 Seer Brayant AC to a 20 Seer Linex System.
The Linex is the signiture series and is a very good unit but
it cost approx $1800 more for the Linex. The furnace is 96.2% efficent
for the Brayant and about 98% for the Linex.
It is for an older home that uses a 2 ton unit. My older home is in the southern Indiana area.

Is the more efficent Linex unit worth the additonal cost?

This is something I need a quick answer to and I don't have time
for a bunch or reaserch. So in there anyone who can give me
some advise here?

The contractor selling the Bryant HVAC told me that there would
be no significant efficiency difference between the two units but
I wanted to double check that fact on the forums

He also noted that parts would cost more to repair the High Tech
Lennox unit when it gets older and out of warranty.

It is a Bryant Model 925T & 16 seer Puron Aid Conditioner that
I am considering over the a Lennex SLP98VH070U36B Furnace and
XC21-024 Lennox Signature Collection.


Any more information would be helpful.
