I received a qoute from an electrician regarding the replacement of the main circuit breaker box. Can anyone give me an approximate qoute for the job, including permit, inspection fee and labor. The box is on the side wall of the house. I was looking for some comparables.

Replacing the whole service, or just the panel. How about some more detail.
I assume it is en exterior panel?

I do know that California is off the charts expensive when it comes to the trades.

A job in rural NY might be $750, while the same job in Cali would likely be $2 grand.

Are you replacing it in kind or increasing the main?
Will the new service be a surface mount or let into the wall?
Have you had a meter spot and will the new service be in the same location?
