For kitchen odors, if it smells like smoke or grease, talk with a paint supplier about a stain blocking primer. They typically seal the substrate odors well enough to eliminate the smell. Then apply a topcoat of your choice.
Check your curtains and determine if they need laundering.
Clean your drains with bleach followed by a hot water rinse if you suspect a food waste odor, then add some baking soda followed by a cup of vinegar, then rinse with water.
Remove the P trap under the sink and visually inspect it for partial blockage.
Also, deodorize the garbage disposal, as above, if you have one.
