i know it can be costly but you need double pained windows and and a special layer placed over
the glass to prevent ice...will serve as an insulated layer...... i dont know all the tech

it mite sound kinds silly but try a little babyoil and a brillo pad or steel wool.... it worked

you may have to tear out the base and replace it with a longer peice, seems like an easy fix
just a hassle to tear it out once its in. on the other hand you could just go to the base
