It might not be too difficult if you have the right equipment and time. Just make sure you're

I agree with Joe--there's something to be said about renovations that are for your own
enjoyment and benefit, rather than a future seller's. Maybe it's about finding a balance

You can mix some gray or other dark color paint with either paint thinner or water and "rag it
on." Just use a rag to wipe it on the frame, then wipe off excess.
