Well, an old home is what it is. Thae inspector is just doing some CYA, basically a good carpenter who deals with old homes can get in there and give you some advice. however, they are going to make it seem like it needs work if you do not get a professional, with references. Stop at the local lumber yard for some advice on contractors in the area, if they do not give advice...keep asking them, someone will slip out into the woodwork...so to speak.
