It probably has a fungus on it. There is a certain spray that you can try. I will try to find

You would be amazed by how much cleaning would improve the appearance. A nice curtain rod and
light curtain would look well.

Not really sure about the gun safe as well, but I really like what your plan is. I love the
lighting idea. You have a lot of upper wall space, I think the outcome will be nice.
