Posted in thread: Some OSB dimensions for roof to avoid? on 09-13-2011 at 02:28 PM
I am building a small shed. walls are 7' 6" x 16'. The roof made from OSB must be larger. Is
there some dimensions that are better so that one will never need to cut a tile to fit?Is there
some standar...Posted in thread: H shealthing clips--1/2 inch for 7/16 OSB on 03-28-2011 at 10:23 AM
Are H-clips intended only for the roof and not for side shealthing? I read that they are for
both so I intended to use them for both the sides and the roof. I had wanted to use 14.5" long
2x4 spacers ...Posted in thread: H shealthing clips--1/2 inch for 7/16 OSB on 03-28-2011 at 10:16 AM
I have never seen true 1/2 inch plywood or OSB at HD or anywhere.Only MDF or particle board is
true dimension thickness, ie nominal and actual are the same. At HD, it says 7/16 OSB.Posted in thread: H shealthing clips--1/2 inch for 7/16 OSB on 03-24-2011 at 02:19 PM
Home Depot does not sell 7/16 H clips for 7/16 OSB. They only have 1/2 inch.Would 1/2 inch be

May I add a 1/2 inch OSB stripe between the top and bottom plate to add 1/2 inch?Posted in thread: Home depot stud on 03-23-2011 at 12:57 PM
I don't have to match any existing stud, but I may have to cut the OSB sheet to get it to fit.

HD sells 2x4s for king studs labeled as 92 1/4 inches. Is 92 1/4 too short? King stud should be
92 5/8. Am I right?Posted in thread: Installing expanson anchor bolts on 03-22-2011 at 12:12 PM
ThanksI have decided to not use wedge expansion anchor and to use L shape cast in bolts. 0.5
inch and 6 inches long. I will leave 2.25 inch up. I figure 1.5 inch for the PT 2x4 leaving
0.75 inch for t...Posted in thread: Installing expanson anchor bolts on 03-21-2011 at 02:01 PM
I just realize that may be pouring in just a small amount of epoxy, as little has half a
teaspoonful, into the anchor hole and then tighten will greatly strengthen the bolts. It won't
loosen.Posted in thread: Installing expanson anchor bolts on 03-21-2011 at 01:56 PM
