Reckon joecaption is right, the heat has probably seized the swine on. I'd use a rag and push
up on the glass dome sensibly and see if it eases. Also it may help trying to tighten a little

If you can afford to replace then I would, it should mean a quicker sale. If not and you want
to save a lot if time, effort and money then I'd use an etching primer, ESP is a very good one,

Tile would be good if you can find a match, I'd use a drywall compound over plaster- dries
quicker, easy to sand and strong enough.
