OK I think I have it now. I still had it in my mind that I needed to cover the entire surface
of the door frame with thin wood to cover up everything. Then cut the width of the door,

I removed the trim around the doors, then drywalled up to the opening since the old plaster
went up to there. The drywall is 5/8 inch thick so if I nail the trim back there is 5/8 inch
