This is always a nightmare when this happens. I have had to face this several times in my
painting career. Most often it is when a painting contractor before me does the prep work
meaning fixing holes...

The best paint "finish" for cabinets in my opinion is either satin or semi-gloss. Semi-gloss
has more of a sheen / shine to it. Both are durable and washable.And yes, make sure you prep
