Here's an example of a job I did with a similar application. Used T&G pine car siding and
applied venetian plaster/glazing to wall surfaces.

Check with your local building department. In Chicago it was 48" to the frost line. In SW
Missouri it's only 18". I'm pretty sure the frost depth in Iowa is at 42".

Looks like really cheap Chinese chrome plating or your using really strong cleaning solvents,
(like the acid in liquid drain cleaner!). Opening the wall should not be necessary if the drain
shoe is PV...
