    Sometimes people can't believe the smell is gone I have seen that with fire damage.I agree and

    I just said that to rule things out, sometime people get an idea in their heads and miss the
    obvious. If the plumbing was questionable it could also be a leak and the smell could be mildew

    Yes. The homeowners told me they had one but it was removed afaik. It's now covered in
    concrete.

    I don't think the hub flex coupling will work since the crack is right at the fitting. That
    coupling can only join pipe to pipe (not pipe to a pipe fitting).No you are wrong.There's more
