There's about an inch gap between it and the studs and other boards. Should I be concerned
about that for insulation efficiency sake? I am pretty sure that in any cavity that has old

I think an even better lesson would be to take several digital photographs before disconnecting
anything, and label the connections if it's not absolutely certain from the photos what went

Could it be that the motor uses 120v, and the coil uses 240, and the outlet has one of it's

my advice is that you need to figure outwhat wires are going where first. turn off that
breaker, and disconnect all connections in all boxes. Then take a multimeter and check for

Those horizontal slats, by the way, are about an inch and a quarter wide, and maybe 3/16 thick.
I can tell it was blown in because it surrounds wiring. Isn't blow-in insulation an
