the first cut

this is what I found under the padding at the front entrance - a small pile of sand brought back from the school yard, in the kids shoes, a spoonfull at a time, over 10 years.

extending the flooring into the adjacent room, out to the front entrance.

i don't think i could ever go back to having carpet again.

1500 sq feet of oak flooring sitting in my garage, and then it hits me...what the hell have i started???

motoring along. this was one afternoon/evening's worth of work.

getting the first few planks took much longer than we expected it would

living room and 2/3 of the piano room are done.
