This was my last Trex Deck of 2009, And hopefully the last deck I ever build. I have been building decks for over 15 years. It's time for something new. I own the new tool "The StairGuide" for stairs but maybe I'll write a book or something. Tha
This is an example of how all stairs should be attached.
Using stair straps w/ #10 galvanized joist nails. ensure the stairs never drop. I see far to often unsafe staircases.
Multi-level staircase with 6 sided picture frame landing.
Lighting added under the top cap rail, under all the railing.
Here I am showing the blocking needed for the design in the deck. and hurricane clips I use on each joist to keep the decking flat, not wavy. As well as the wrapped drop beam and Miratek columns covering the 6x6's.
Double square overlapping design.
This is a pic showing how the deck is attached to the house and some of the blocking needed for a picture frame split level deck.
Upper level with single rise step.
