A trick to hide all those exposed screws in the hand rails in to use constrution adhesive on top of the cross members and insert the screws from below in counter bored holes, and into the sides of the corner pieces to keep them
from twisting.
Using trim head decking screws would have allowed you to just tap the screw head area and hidden all the deck screw holes.
