My family grew suddenly and I live in a tiny house. I didn't have time or money to sell it and buy a bigger one, so I got creative about using the space that I do have. The living room is huge and has 10' foot ceilings. I figured out that I could build lofts around the edges of two walls at 7'.
That left plenty of room to walk under the lofts without anyone bumping their heads, and it gave me room to put 3 beds for the boys. There's no room for jumping on the beds, but there is plenty of room for them to sit up and they have space for personal items. We even built a shelf under the loft ladder for my oldest son's computer. The monitor is a flat screen mounted on the wall and he has a cool little work-space there at the end of his bed.
