Tile over brick fireplace
I am getting ready to tile over this brick fireplace. Should I lay the tile on top of the brick or should I take the brick out? I am worried it may block my ventilation if I tile over the brick....

Thank you all for your help. There were four large screws holding the manel up, I was able to get two of them out after cutting back the drywall and the other two I just cut off. Thanks again.
