What I would do
Since you are getting ready to put it on teh market i would get some composite or some of that plastic wood stuff and replace the whole casing. That way it willl look more uniform and i can gurantee...

Yeah... the city won't let us do anything that involves a load bearing support on the soutside of the house (that kills the porch) and we arent' allowed to do the siding because of the waste disposal...
