Thanks Oldog...forgot to mention the side walls extend approximately 2 feet above the roof and so a cut out for one drain pipe down the side ...that's the way they were built...most of the homes were...

Well thanks for your help guys...got two guys with two 32 foot ladders and changed out about 30 feet of plank...InspectorD...i like the idea about the tar paper z sealing......

In this Bay city...most...practically all have a flat roof as this 80 year old house does. Most have the pea gravel on top. Whereas mine has what looks like a polyurathane or silver...

I believe they are shiplap style planks...Talking to the carpenter...he said i would need 1.5 -2 inch...
