try disconnecting the wire going out from it then...

try disconnecting the wire going out from it then reset it if it resets then you have a ground fault somewhere if not replace it

i would suggest you use a double pole double throw switch connect the thermostat in the middle and the units on each side hope this helps if you need a sketch let me know good luck

assuming you just want to control the power get a small electronic timer and a 30a 2pole contactor feed the power thru the contactor and control the contactor with the timer hope this helps

could be the cord that is defective i have seen it sometimes the solder in the plug is defective if you have 240 at the outlet and not at the stove ring the wires for continuity in the cord ...
