ask your furnace installer about a heat recovery ventilator system it draws in outside air but also warms the outside air before it hits your duct work. it is a whole lot more efficient than sucking...

there was a smart valve that was notorius for a weak connection in the gas valve since when you tap on it and it starts, I would change out smart valve

what I did was get an old furnacel your local...

what I did was get an old furnacel your local hvac company should have some they are scraping remove everything not needed heat exchanger gas valves ect but keep filter rack , controls and blower....

I suspect your venting or cumbustion air go...

I suspect your venting or cumbustion air go outside and check your venting or intake for obstructions including screens which may frost over or ice building up . if that checks out try temporarily...

vent on gas meter could be icing over that might be why the flame improved later in the day when the ice thawed .check to see if water is dripping from the roof onto your gasmeter

sounds like it might being going off on high limit. furnace get to hot and cycles off but t state is not satisfied so it cycles through over and over untill t stat is satisfied .clean filter ,clean...
