If it is a pain to get to either end, just set a skill saw to cut 3/4 inch into studs, and cut a path from a to b that is 1 inch wide then staple wire to back of notches and put a metal nail plate...

try this dude....
I pull this trick once in a while at work when i'm stuck with the puke meter. Get an extension cord and take it to a good plug. Test hot to neut and to grnd should be the same both ways 118-125volts....

is your entire house plastic plumbing including main line coming in? if so you should have two ground rods outside, with a #6 copper to them from neutral bar.
