GFI not working.
Did you make sure center button is all the way in? Also did you try continuity
check to see if plug is bad.

Can't find studs.
Did you try to take out plug ? If not turn off breaker pull out plug and clean out box with vacuum. Check box for nails or screws witch may tell you what it's attached to. You may be able to see or...

ceiling fan
I am putting in a ceiling fan. I would like to know how mount junction box so it will hold fan safe. My beams are on 24in centers.
