Hi all,
I am finishing out a 4000 sq. ft. ranch house and have put radiant barrier foil in the walls behind pre-existing 1/4-inch wood siding and on the attic floor.

Has anyone else here done a similar installation, and what difference in comfort level, energy consumption have you seen?

Thanks!

No, I have not used it in my State. It is good for warm, sunny climates, CA, FL, etc.
Here are links for you: Radiant Barrier Fact Sheet And cost effectiveness at the bottom of page link.

Be safe, Gary

neither of your types of installation are recommended. Foil needs one side to have 1" minimum air gap to work, so your wall stuff isn't doing anything, and attic floor insulation collects dust bad, causing a 90% loss in effectiveness within the first five years, and can cause major moisture issues when those tiny perforations get plugged.
