I have an older bathroom ( 1920’s) with a tile floor that sits on top of a mortar bed (2 inches thick). This floor is like a sidewalk. A sledge hammer is just chipping it. Any suggestion? I’m considering a Jack Hammer.

Thank you

A small electric chipping hammer would work fine I will bet. see what the rental place has. Bosch has a decent one not to big, but should be big enough for that. If there is any sheet flooring involved, get it tested as some is backed with asbestos. Also good ventilation and a good reperator, as this will be dusty

"if it's silica (and this is) it's not just dust"
