Hey guys, trying to do some good work, but this project has me a little freaked out. We want a pretty big mirror in the bathroom... which is all thin-as-all-hell drywall. Should I set up a bunch of cleats like this, throw on a wire, or just run and hide.

Here's the mirror. We don't have a lot of space and this is basically the only place we can and want to make it work. Otherwise, I'm likely to return the sucker. Thanks for your ideas folks.

French cleats sound good. I would put the emphasis on the right kind of molly or wall anchor you are going to use. And (from experience) I would also include a safety wire for backup.

The cleat is fine try and get at least one of the screws into a stud. You may have to drill a hole thru the cleat to do that. Two is better, and the rest can be drywall anchors.
