I would contact an engineer to look at the issue if the walls are bowed more than 1 inch out of plumb.
A picture would help also.

"Ds" idea of getting an engineer to look at it is your best bet but don't be surprised if the engineer tells you that you will have to support the house by an external means, tear the walls down and relay them.
If that is the case, it would be a good time to install foundation drainage, waterproof the walls and backfill with a more suitable material such as rock or sand.
