Greetings,
Our AC unit decided it was time to act up as well. Last week we noticed that the unit was running all the time but the temperature hardly changed. We investigate a bit and upon checking the furnace/ac unit we found the outside with condensation and bulging. We turned off the ac and run just the fan. Changed filter and next day tried again. The same happen. Thankfully our weather has cooled down a bit. Anyway, we called an ac company and they said that the thermo expansion valve is bad and needs replacement. They estimate a hefty expense, so I figure I would ask a second opinion and here I am. Have you had experience with that? If the problem is indeed that, is it worth replacing it?
Thanks. Be well
Miriam

You will have to decide if it is worth the expense.
How long do you plan on living there?
What is the cost of repair?
What is the cost of a new unit?
How old is the current unit?
What are estimates from other HVAC companies in your area?
