I'm moving the air compressor in my garage about 12' and I need to extend the service. The existing supply line is braided aluminum. Is there a safe way to attach 10/2 to it?

Yes, you can extend it with more aluminum by making a splice inside a junction box or replace the existing run with copper. You can also connect copper to aluminum but, you need a special connections and anti-oxidant paste.

Why would you? Noalox is your best friend, as it was mine with the old house.

If you're talking about your service....as in service entrance cable....the answer is no. Is it Alu romex? If so, what size. Is it Alu SE cable?

We can still buy alu. for the bigger cables, thats all they use for the main coming into the house.
