What is the story on using hot water in the garage disposal? Long ago I was yold not to use Hot water through the Garbagr disposer. I recentky changed sinks and the plastic thingy inside the disposer was warped. Advice? Guidelines?

I never had any issues, in fact I would sometimes pour the boiling water from the cooking of pasta down to kill off any bacteria. If they could not take the heat...why would they be in a sink?
Someone may have another opinion, but I have not run into it before.
Welcome aboard.

Hello John W:
Same here, the hot water should not damage the disposer. However, we Plumbers ask owners not to use hot water to flush grease down the disposer because it gets cold down the line and you could get a blockage from the accumulation of grease. Using hot water to flush the disposer is a waste of hot water anyway.
