My kid just backed his truck into the brick column between my garage doors. It looks like he just clipped the corner pushing it in and cracking it (see pic). Is there some minor cosmetic repair I can do or should I replace the bricks?

Those bricks will never look correct unless you replace them. You could glue the pieces on with PL but the crack will still be visible.

What does PL stand for? If I replace the bricks, do I need to worry about the bricks on top of it? As shown in the pic, this is a single brick column. Should I be worried about the bricks above falling out? Thanks for your responses.

Yes you should be concerned about the bricks above sagging if you remove those cracked ones.
Consider waiting awhile. This may not be the first hit for the new driver.
