Hello all,

I have DEWALT 3/8 in. Variable Speed Reversing Mid-Handle Drill Kit with Keyless Chuck Model # DWD115K

Now, I need to buy a 4" hold saw that is used with DEWALT 7/16 in. Shank Quick Change Mandrel Fits Hole Saws 1-1/4 in. - 6 in.

No, sorry I didn't see that earlier, You will need a 1/2 " drill.

Hello nealtw,

Based on a review from amazon "For wood, OSB, fiber cement board, plywood, sheetrock, plaster, fiberglass, MDF, and anything else the TCT hole cutters like the ones from Blue Boar are a better deal if you plan to cut more than one or two holes", it seems that the hold saw from dewalt is not good for prywood.

May you give me some suggestion on buying a hole saw which is decent quality and can be used with my 3/8" drill?

I wouldn't bother with the light stuff, but then I would use a skill saw set so it would only cut 1/2" deep and get it done.

These parts are expensive and you may use them only once.

I'd look for ways to use tools for this job that are more versatile and commonplace, or rent the tools.
