I know it has been awhile but since I just received the new mantel yesterday, I wanted to post a pic of the completed job. Since the fireplace is adjacent to the kitchen, we decided to color match the mantel to the color of the kitchen cabinets. I've also posted a before and after photo of the kitchen makeover.

Where I live, the fireplace is used maybe 5 hours a year. The TV on the other hand, is on maybe 5 hours a day!

The romance of the fireplace likely last long enought to find the TV controller.
