Hi, I am trying to get paint that matches my bedroom wall color. I plan to cut a chunk out of my wall behind my baseboards. I will then this chunk of wall to the store to get an exact paint match. I have an exacto knife but I have a feeling this won’t be able to cut the wall well. Is there another tool I should use to cut the wall. Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum, Dick Tracy:
If your wall is sheetrock you only need to cut a little square of the paper to take with you. If it is plaster you could break out a small amount with a hammer, a cold chisel would help to control the cut.
Hey, let us know how it turns out, maybe some pictures.

I would go with a utility knife. it will cut sheetrock deep enough to peel paper (as above) but will also score plaster enough to chip off. Try looking for something that got a paint drip on it by mistake
