What's the best way to fix a toilet that rocks back and forth when you sit on it?
I assume a wedge of wood would work, but is there an official way to level it? Or a material more substantial than caulk?

Did you take those little caps off of the base on the sides and try tightening up the bolts? You will also want to make sure the wax ring is not leaking due to the movement of the base.

Probably best to pull the toilet to see if the base flange has broken.
Don't use wood shims, they will collect/absorb bacteria. Your local hardware will have plastic shims. Don't tighten the bolts too much or you stand a chance of cracking the bowl. Use a new wax ring when you reseat the bowl to the floor.

I won't be able to look at the toilet until tomorrow, it's not mine. I'll check all this out and let you know.
