Hello,

We are looking to replace our asphalt driveway with concrete. We live in Central Ohio. so far I received 5 quotes from contractors ranging from $7,300 to $12,200. I am new to concrete and I am trying to figure out why such a huge discrepancy. Are there any suggestions on questions to ask? O does anyone see a huge difference in the 3 attached estimates?

Thanks.

David

Welcome to the site..
My experience is to cut the job up and be a manager for the job yourself, if not do some of the work yourself.
A bobcat operator with a dumptruck can have the old removed in minutes and would likely be able to asses the gravel base that is there and replace it if needed, rent a compactor and compact the fill then you can form up the driveway for concrete. Phone the local readymix plants for a list of concrete placers that they work with regularly..
You should be able to knock 25% off the bill.
