I live in a 19 yr old brick veneer home on a concrete foundation near Houston TX. The slab is exposed 10-12 inches in some portions. Should I be concerned and raise the soil level? If so, to what level and with what kind of material? Also, the foundation is noticeably cracked at a couple of the corners. Should I be concerned and have those repaired? No work has ever been done on the foundation.

Thanks

Could yopu post a pic of the areas? Also what kind of soil do you have near the house and do you have gutters on the eaves?

Oh yeah, :welcome: to House Repair Talk!

A min. of 8" of concrete should be exposed to the air, more is not usually a problem. I would also like to see photos of the cracks. Cracks are not usually a problem unless one part has raised or sunk.
