I'd be interested to know how others feel about and deal with vermiculite insulation when remodeling. Opinions on the subject are wide-ranging from the EPA's recommendations not to touch the stuff to guys who don't even strap on a dust mask.

According to the abatement people, requests for removal have dropped 75% since the price for the service jumped 3 fold due to more stringent regulations. Something tells me remodeling of homes with vermiculte, of which there are literally millions, has not dropped 75%.

I have always had it removed and the customer pays any disposal fees.
They do own it. Just like asbestoes or lead.
They are pretty tough in our state.

Not sure as I agree with all of it though.
Personal dust protection is always a must.:)
