one of the "ball valves" which I installed with my new shower valve leaks only when turned on. (just a little). is there a "seal" " inside that I can get at by removing the nut on the valve? (yes, the nut is tight) this is a new valve and it's soldered in so it would be a real hassle to replace the whole thing.

tnx

Never had to deal with them but this might help.

did you remove the handle and tighten the nut under the handle

Yes.

There are gaskets O-Rings and seals in ball valves. What type and how many depend on what type you have.

If its a new valve then odds are the seals are not bad. So if you could please give us some more information.

Was the ballvalve new old or rebuilt? A leaky new ballvalve is likely because of improper installation instead of a bad seal. A leaky old one could be a bad seal. As could be a rebuilt one that was not properly torqued when it was rebuilt.
