I'm new to electrical and wiring so please bear with me. I have a breaker box in my barn and I believe it is a 20 amp box, it has 2 10 amp breakers. Would I have to get a new breaker box in order to wire a 240v outlet?

Killian, you haven't provided enough information for us to provide a yes or no answer.

In addition to the 240V requirement, more important is the amperage of the outlet you desire. 240V is derived from two 110v sources from opposing phases. So, we would need to know what the amperage of the breaker is that is feeding this box and whether or not each breaker in the box is from the same or opposite phase of it's source.
Are there any knockouts in the box where you can install additional breakers?
