Hi Guys
I am new to the forum and I want to build a really small simple deck, the space for my deck will only be about 2.4 metres square, and I want to lay it on top of my brick patio. The patio is in great condition and is level etc, i am just not sure what i need, can i simply build the deck frame and lay it on the patio without any fixing? or do I need to fix it somehow?

Cheers for any help

For building a deck over a patio basically you start with a frame similar to a wall frame with studs, so to speak. This will lie on top of the patio. Then if you want to level it up you raise the front up till its level and block it up at that height temporarily and then go through and measure from the bottom of the frame to the patio and cut some bearing blocks that length to support the frame.
