I have a sump well in my basement for a utility sink and washing machine and have decided to replace the sink and pump.
Do I need a sewage pump or just a standard sump pump?

Or just use a sink pump and run the washer into the sink, no vent needed.

A sewage ejector would only be needed if you were adding a toilet. It can handle the "bio-solids" that a regular sump pump can't. Does the sump support your footer drains?
 
Sparky, I have another sump well and pump for the footer drain.

Neal, I like that idea but since I already have the well I figure I may as well use it unless you see a benefit to using the method you suggested? I should also mention my water heater is right next to the pit so it will be easy to drain it.

I just thought that whole system looked nice and tidy.
But with a hose you could drain the tank to the other sump.:trophy:
