My husband and I have been looking to buy our first home. Our best prospect so far only has one concern. Does this look like an issue? AC repair guys, we are not.

Why would it be disconnected this way? Would the whole unit have to be replaced?
Thanks!

it appears that the refrigerant lines (liquid and vapor) are disconnected at the compressor and the inside coil, so this means you have no air conditioning (cooling)

Have a home inspection done!! It looks like someone disconnected a dead unit. Lines are left in place to be used for a new one. Because of the new 13SEER regulations, this may be an advantage. You may get away with just replacing a dead compressor istead of a whole unit...

Thanks! Don't mind replacing it. Just need to adjust the offer. Thanks again.
