This has been gnawing at my mind for months now, and I'd like some input on it.

Our house had/has severe termite damage. Several floor joists were missing, and the subfloor was even deteriorated. What my buddy and I did was rip up the hardwoods, and the subfloor where diagonal boards. We replaced it with 3/4 plywood.

The problem, or maybe not, is that we didnt maneuver the new plywood subfloor underneath the bottom wall plate. We just sawed off the old floor flush, and butted up the new floor up to that.

Is that really bad? If so, how can I fix it?

Hello Hondaman:
If the walls are standing firm and not sinking or showing structural damage; I would let it go and not worry about it another day. You said you have replaced the rest of the subfloor; did you also replace the finish floor? If so its definitely time to forget it.
