I replaced the torsion springs on my garage door. It opens easily but stops half way up. It is stuck firmly there and goes no higher.

The door will stay in place at the half way point.

I put 30 quarter turns on each spring. Do I need more turns or fewer?
 
Has the cold weather caused your slab to move about? This is what screws up my door. The movement can take a freely moving door and turn it into a first class headache.
 
One of the cables had fallen to the floor. When I brought it back up and would the pulley, the cable was on the outside of the door brackets.The bottom was hitting the bracket about half way up the door travel and stopping the door from opening fully. I was able to loosen the pulley and adjust the cable. All is well now.
