First off, thank you for your time on any input you have for me in my first thread.

As a whole, thank you for this forum.

I need an improvement on lighting over my sink area, but would like to spend ~$15 but no more than $20. Currently there is an 18" led strip with 22 little diodes and just isn't cutting it for brightness.

My cabinets come out 12" from the wall and 30" above the sink. But 12" below the cabinet is a shelf that comes out 4" and really seems to hog up a ton of light.

Do I replace the current light strip with something more powerful, or add additional lights below on the 4" shelf.

Depending on the seyup for the existing LED strip, you would be able to meet budget with a new strip on the shelf. You may have some wire showing (lamp cord?) from the existing LED strip to the nex one ... but the added light will solve your task problem.

:D
