Hi folks,
I'm installing an exterior door on a patio that had a 32" high block wall and screening.
Using 2x6pt for the rough door opening. I have to keep, and add on to, the original block wall.
I have about 29" of opening to fill (4 courses of block) and above it will be wood framed.
My question is do I just butt the block tight to the PT door frame? Do I use mortar between the block and PT?
I was also thinking I should nail galvanized strapping between the courses to tie into the PT.
Thanks.

Over 100 views and no opinions? In any case, I've done the work so no need. Came out fine.

Oh boy. I hope you didn't screw things up too badly. I would have done it differently.
