Not sure this is the right place for this question..

Has anyone out there had to replace and old septic system (for a 2 BR, seasonal, lake front camp)?

Septics tend to fill up/fail, etc. after many many years. How much did it cost to get the soil test/septic plan done and how much did it cost to put the new system in? Any pointers/advice?

Just trying to figure out how much $$ to budget for it... so thanks...

To many variables to even start. What are the local regs near water. ect...what did the perc test show, soil conditions, slope, nearby wells.
I would call a local septic contractor.
Wils a$$ guess 10-50 thow.It all depends. Engineered, or not, 100 yards of fill....good luck.

Just figure it's going to cost lots of $$$$. We did our septic field about three years ago. It cost us about $20k, total.

Start by bringing in a septic contractor. He'll poke some holes in the ground & tell you how extensive the project is (in our case the tanks were OK - no replacement necessary). He'll have names of engineers who he works with - that's a separate bill. Then the perk test. In our case, the engineer & contractor consulted with each other on what system would work / fit on our property. Once the engineer draws up his plans, you can bid the job to several contractors. Our engineer understood that we weren't going to necessarily use his contractor.
